Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 June 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using MasjidConnect. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you”, “your”, “User”) and MasjidConnect, operated by Tahmid Hoque as a sole trader based in England and Wales (“MasjidConnect”, “we”, “our”, “us”), governing your access to and use of the MasjidConnect platform, website, and associated services.

By creating an account, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age;
  • You are an authorised representative of the Islamic organisation (masjid, Islamic centre, or similar) on whose behalf you are registering;
  • You have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms; and
  • All information you provide during registration is accurate and complete.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use MasjidConnect.

2. Definitions

The following terms have these meanings throughout this agreement:

  • “Service”. The MasjidConnect software platform, including the admin portal, display application, APIs, and all related features accessible via www.masjidconnect.co.uk or portal.masjidconnect.co.uk.
  • “Account”. The account created by a User to access and manage the Service on behalf of a Masjid.
  • “Masjid”. The Islamic organisation (masjid, masjid, Islamic centre, or similar institution) registered on the platform.
  • “Content”: any data, text, images, files, announcements, prayer times, or other materials uploaded or entered into the Service by a User.
  • “Display Screen”: a television, monitor, or digital display device paired with the MasjidConnect display application and connected to the Service.
  • “Licence”. A one-off paid software plan (Starter, Growth, or Pro) granting your Masjid lifetime access to features beyond the Free plan.
  • “Annual Service”. An optional recurring yearly service you may add, namely a Care support plan or a Community App listing.
  • “Paddle”: Paddle.com, Inc., our third-party payment processor and Merchant of Record who manages all billing, VAT collection, and payment processing on our behalf.
  • “Stripe”: Stripe, Inc., our payment processing partner for donations. When a Masjid connects Stripe to receive donations from community members, Stripe processes those payments on behalf of the Masjid.
  • “User”. Any individual who accesses the Service using credentials associated with a Masjid Account.

3. Account Registration

To use MasjidConnect, you must register an Account on behalf of your Masjid. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it up to date;
  • Maintain the security of your login credentials and not share them with unauthorised individuals;
  • Notify us immediately at support@masjidconnect.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised access to your Account;
  • Ensure that only one Account is created per Masjid: multiple branches or institutions must each have their own Account; and
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your Account.

MasjidConnect reserves the right to suspend or terminate Accounts that provide false or misleading information, or that appear to be duplicates.

Admin User Roles

The Account owner (the primary registrant) is responsible for managing additional admin users. Admin users added to an Account are granted access at the Account owner's discretion. The Account owner remains responsible for ensuring all admin users comply with these Terms.

4. Description of Service

MasjidConnect provides an all-in-one management platform for Islamic organisations. Features available vary by plan and include:

  • Prayer time management and display screen control;
  • Digital signage and announcement management;
  • Event management and ticketing;
  • Donation collection and donor management;
  • Community member CRM;
  • Financial reporting (planned);
  • Facilities and volunteer management (planned); and
  • API access for custom integrations (planned).

We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features of the Service at any time. Where changes materially reduce the functionality of a paid plan, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.

5. Pricing, Licences & Billing

Free plan

The Free plan is available at no charge and with no time limit. It includes 1 display screen, 1 admin user, and core features. No payment card is required.

Software licences (one-off)

Paid software plans are one-off lifetime licences for your Masjid: a single payment, with no recurring subscription:

  • Starter. £349; includes 3 display screens and the full content library.
  • Growth: £499; includes 10 screens, events, donations, and members CRM.
  • Pro. £999; includes unlimited screens, multi-site support, and one year of Priority Care (renewing at £449/year while the Pro licence is active).

A Licence grants your Masjid access to its plan's features for the lifetime of the product, including future updates to those features at no extra cost. We may change prices for new purchases at any time; a Licence you have already purchased is unaffected.

Installation packages

We offer optional done-for-you installation packages that bundle a software Licence with hardware (a MasjidConnect Display Unit), on-site installation, and training. Installation packages are advertised from a starting price and confirmed by individual quote, as the final price depends on screen size, the number of screens, and travel. A travel surcharge may apply outside our standard service area.

Hardware supplied as part of a package, or purchased separately, is sold to you and becomes your property on payment. It carries the manufacturer's warranty (12 months on the Display Unit). Replacement of faulty or damaged hardware is not included in any support plan. Once installation work has been carried out, the installation and hardware elements are non-refundable, except for faulty hardware or as otherwise required by law. See our Refund Policy for details.

Care plans & Community App listing (annual)

The following optional services are billed annually and renew automatically each year until cancelled:

  • Care. £279/year (£249 first year after an installed package); hands-on remote help with 6 help sessions per year (up to 30 minutes each), for one masjid and up to 5 screens.
  • Priority Care. £549/year (£449/year renewal while a Pro licence is active); phone support, 12 help sessions, a yearly screen health check, volunteer training, and one on-site visit. Included for the first year with a Pro licence or Pro installation package.
  • Display Guard. £899/year; Priority Care plus urgent help if a display goes blank during Friday prayers or Ramadan evenings, subject to availability.
  • Community App listing. £129/year; keeps your Masjid surfaced and live in the MasjidConnect Community app.

Every software Licence includes Platform Support for genuine software faults (email, we aim to reply within 5 working days) at no charge. Care plans are for hands-on settings and training help within your plan's help sessions, not for reporting faults. Extra help sessions, add-ons, and additional on-site visits are charged separately at published rates. These annual services do not form part of the one-off software Licence.

Billing and Payment

Software licences are sold through Paddle.com, Inc. (“Paddle”), who act as our Merchant of Record. When you purchase a Licence, you enter into a purchase agreement with Paddle, subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms. Paddle is responsible for processing your payment, issuing invoices, and handling any applicable tax. Installation packages, hardware, Care plans, and the Community App listing may be invoiced directly by MasjidConnect.

MasjidConnect is not currently VAT-registered, so we do not add VAT to fees we invoice directly (such as installation, support, and app listings). Where Paddle acts as Merchant of Record for software licences, Paddle is responsible for determining and handling any applicable VAT at checkout. If you have a question about your invoice, contact us at support@masjidconnect.co.uk.

Upgrades

You may upgrade your software Licence to a higher plan at any time by paying the difference between your current and new Licence price. Because Licences are one-off, there are no recurring charges and no downgrades; you may simply stop using higher-tier features or continue on the Free plan.

Renewals and Cancellation

Software licences are one-off and do not renew. Annual services (Care plans and the Community App listing) renew automatically each year unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future renewals, and the service continues until the end of the year already paid for. Refunds are subject to our Refund Policy.

6. Donation Processing (Stripe Connect)

Payment processing services for Masjids on MasjidConnect are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the “Stripe Services Agreement”). By agreeing to these Terms or continuing to operate as a Masjid on MasjidConnect that receives donations through the platform, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as the same may be modified by Stripe from time to time.

As a condition of MasjidConnect enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide MasjidConnect with accurate and complete information about you and your organisation, and you authorise MasjidConnect to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services with Stripe.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use MasjidConnect solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Upload, display, or transmit any Content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable;
  • Display Content that is inappropriate for a place of worship or that would bring MasjidConnect or the masjid community into disrepute;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Service;
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service;
  • Share your Account credentials with individuals outside your Masjid organisation, or allow a single Account to be used on behalf of multiple separate masjids;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other Accounts or to MasjidConnect's systems or infrastructure;
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation; or
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

MasjidConnect reserves the right to remove any Content and suspend or terminate any Account that violates this Acceptable Use policy, without prior notice.

8. Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all Content you upload or create within the Service, including prayer times, announcements, images, event information, and community data.

By uploading Content to MasjidConnect, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display that Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your Masjid.

You warrant that you have all necessary rights, permissions, and licences to upload and use any Content you submit to the Service, and that doing so does not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party.

9. Intellectual Property

MasjidConnect owns all intellectual property rights in the Service, including but not limited to the platform software, codebase, user interface design, brand identity, logos, trademarks, and documentation.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or otherwise exploit any part of the Service or its intellectual property.

These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for its intended purpose for as long as you hold a valid Licence or Annual Service, or use the Free plan.

10. Service Availability

We endeavour to maintain high availability of the Service and will make reasonable efforts to minimise downtime. However, we do not guarantee 100% uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where practicable.

MasjidConnect is not liable for any service disruption caused by:

  • Third-party infrastructure providers (including Vercel, Neon, and Amazon Web Services);
  • Internet or network connectivity issues beyond our control;
  • Force majeure events including natural disasters, acts of government, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control; or
  • Scheduled or emergency maintenance required to protect the security or integrity of the Service.

11. Data & Privacy

MasjidConnect processes personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Where you input data about members of your community (such as names, contact details, or donation records) into the Service:

  • Your Masjid acts as the Data Controller for that community data and is responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis for processing it and that your community members have been appropriately informed.
  • MasjidConnect acts as a Data Processor, processing that data solely on your instructions and for the purpose of providing the Service.

By using features that involve community data, you confirm that you have obtained all necessary consents and have a lawful basis to input that data into the Service.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MasjidConnect's total liability to you in connection with these Terms or the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to MasjidConnect for Licences and Annual Services in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

MasjidConnect shall not be liable for any:

  • Indirect or consequential loss;
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or anticipated savings;
  • Loss of business, contracts, or goodwill;
  • Loss of data (beyond the data recovery obligations stated herein);
  • Payment disputes, failed transactions, or any other issues arising from Paddle's payment processing (Paddle is solely responsible as Merchant of Record) or from Stripe's processing of donations (Stripe processes donations on behalf of the receiving Masjid); or
  • Any loss arising from your failure to maintain internet connectivity or compatible hardware for Display Screens.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MasjidConnect and its operator from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of the Service in breach of these Terms;
  • Any Content you upload or display through the Service that infringes the rights of any third party; or
  • Your failure to comply with applicable data protection law in relation to community member data you input into the Service.

14. Termination

Cancellation by You

You may close your Account at any time. A software Licence is a one-off purchase and is not cancelled or refunded by closing your Account (except as set out in our Refund Policy). Any Annual Service can be cancelled at any time from your admin dashboard; it will not renew, and the service continues until the end of the year already paid for.

Suspension or Termination by MasjidConnect

MasjidConnect may suspend or terminate your Account if:

  • You materially breach these Terms and fail to remedy the breach within 7 days of written notice;
  • You commit a serious or repeated breach of the Acceptable Use policy . In which case suspension may be immediate and without notice;
  • You provide false or misleading information; or
  • We are required to do so by law or regulatory authority.

Data Following Termination

Upon cancellation or termination, your data is retained for 90 days to allow you to export it. After this period, all data associated with your Account will be permanently deleted, with the exception of financial records which we are required to retain for 7 years under HMRC regulations.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email and/or a banner notification in your admin dashboard.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel your Account.

The date at the top of this page shows when these Terms were last updated.

16. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter or formation.

We encourage you to contact us first to attempt to resolve any dispute informally before commencing legal proceedings.
